SFHC 2014-2024
Still celebrating a decade this year, so we thought we could announce a compilation, split into 2 volumes, featuring out-takes, demos and phone recordings we’ve collected over these past 10 years. We call it SFHC 2014-2024.
This collection serves as both a retrospective and a window into the band’s creative process over the past decade, giving you access to never-before-heard material that spans the full range of our sound and evolution.
Vol.1 dives into the raw essence of Sunflowers' studio work, focusing on the live loops we use, studio out-takes, and demos. These recordings try to capture our inventive spirit, offering an inside look at the process behind some of our most iconic tracks. The live loops, in particular, showcase how we’ve built our never-an-awkward-silence live performances, a technique we’ve honed through years of explosive shows. There are some new songs, we’ve recorded in the A Strange Feeling… sessions, demos from the Endless Voyage era, and some new songs we’ve recorded in South Africa.
Vol.2 takes a more personal and intimate turn, presenting a collection of lo-fi phone recordings that feel like audio snapshots of the band’s everyday life. These rough, unfiltered recordings capture moments of spontaneous creativity—improvised jams, half-formed ideas, and the raw emotion of in-the-moment songwriting. Unlike the more structured pieces in Vol. 1, these tracks are unpredictable and unvarnished, offering an almost voyeuristic look into our creative process. The lo-fi aesthetic of these phone recordings perfectly complements its most essential, human elements.
Together, the two volumes of SFHC 2014-2024 create a comprehensive portrait of the band as both artists and individuals. It’s a celebration of our ten-year journey, marked by constant evolution, experimentation, and a refusal to conform.
For long-time fans, the compilation offers a nostalgic trip through the band’s past, while for newcomers, it serves as an invitation into the chaotic, raw world we’ve created. By bringing these unreleased recordings to light, we hope to continue to honour our roots while pushing forward into new sonic territory.
SFHC 2014-2024 is not just a compilation—it’s a testament to the relentless creativity and unfiltered energy that have defined us for the past decade, and a bold statement of where we’re heading next.

Thanks for reading this far. Here’s a quote we enjoy:
”No, do the best you can to make the present production a success - don't spoil the entire play just because you happen to think of another one that you'd enjoy rather more.”
by Thomas More, on his book “Utopia”
Have a wonderful week. We love you.
