From Ghent to Kempten
Our updates for the week - how's it going, how it will. Take a seat and dig in.
Hey cybernauts, sorry to interrupt your morning groans.
This week, we have the following to share with you:
How’s it going
What’s coming up
The best shots of the road this week
How’s it going? Great!
Ghent
Always liked Ghent, it has a pretty cool vibe. We arrived a bit early, so we went walking around and found some thrift stores with pretty good deals. Unfortunately, not enough time to dig deeper into the city but it left some pretty cool impressions on us.
The show was at De Roes, in the city center. A new place, open post pandemic. It's basically a basement of an old shoe store that existed there. It's clearly a rock n roll place, and you could feel it.
We were the first band of the night and although we respected the schedule, we still had to soundcheck in a rush, thanks to the other band (who also thought it was a cool idea to leave their backline onstage). Nevertheless, our show went pretty well, with people vibing hard to the songs and energy in general - pretty much what's been happening throughout this tour. Onwards to the next one!
Setlist:
- Electric Piety
- Sleepy Sun

Hamburg
Hamburg has always been one of our favorite cities in the north of Europe. It's a punk city, with a punk attitude we identify with.
We played Komet Klub, a small basement stage, hot and punk af, booked by Wild Wax Shows, who has booked us before, always with great nights to remember.
While we were waiting to start, a group of young people, German and Peruvian, approached us and told us they loved our band and were there to see us. Pretty cool ego boost for us!
The opening act, Die Spams, were a garage rock, beat band, full of attitude and homages to the lo-fi ventures we grew up listening. The song "I want my foreskin back" was a highlight.
Our show was extremely well crafted for this night, as you can see. People loved it, we loved it, at some point I thought the stage would collapse from us jumping up and down. Another damn good one. Thanks Hamburg and hope to see ya soon, unfortunately, it's onwards to the next one!

Berlin
Berlin, capital city. Capitals always make me nervous, as there's always too much shit going on. We played Loophole, a diy, anticapitalist space that looked like an old apartment turned punk venue. It had a cool "don't care" vibe to it, and people were pretty nice.
On our way over from Hamburg, we discovered that there would be a band playing an acoustic set there, actually don't remember the band name, but they were from Belgium. It was krauty mixed with some microtonal shit. It was cool. The next band was Unlosolo, a punk hardcore band with a drum machine. It sounded like Berlin, it was awesome. Rock n roll, bitch.
Our show went pretty well, people were kinda skeptical at first but by the end of the first song, we had them in the palms of our hands. And we held on into them, even with our bad jokes between songs, they kept coming closer and closer, dancing and moshing. At the end of the night we drove a couple of hours to our accommodation, as we would have a long drive to Bratislava the next day. So, onwards to the next one!

Bratislava
So, an eight hour drive to Bratislava to get there, be served a medium pizza for 4 people, pay 2,5€ for the sparkling water with lemon we were drinking, play in the most random lineup so far (a trapstar pop punk band, a really cool garage punk band, a emo/screamo band and us), with the bands leaving after their set. The promoter spoke with us maybe 4 times? Maybe we were just in a bad mood, I don't know, but it felt like 4 bands for 10€ on a Sunday night, on a place you could see for free on the street sounds like a shit idea.
Now, the good things: we played on a boat! That was cool!
Ouf of respect for the people that payed to be there, we played our set, and gave them a good one. They liked it! Success. Onwards to the next one!

Kempten
After another 8 hour drive, we arrived in Kempten. Our expectations and mood were kinda shitty upon arrival but we were received with such good vibes, we were instantly in a good mood. We remembered that Tuesday (today) is a national holiday in Germany, so that might help out with the turn out!
We set up and soundchecked, still without a lot of expectations, once we got outside to smoke a cigarette, there was a ton of people there! That was a pretty good ego boost!
The show was a blast, people seemed really into it, even some people we were not expecting to really dig it. We got asked to play 2 encores, which is somewhat rare! That's small towns for you, I guess - we love it! Small city, huge people. Thanks Lollipop for having us and hope we can come back soon! Today's a day off, which is much deserved. Tomorrow, it's onwards to the next one!

Mini Carolina On The Road With Us
That’s all, folks!
Thanks for reading this far. Here’s a quote we enjoy:
“It’s no use going back to yesterday, because I was a different person then.”
by Lewis Carroll, on his novel “Alice's Adventures in Wonderland”
Have a wonderful week. We love you.
